The police arrested dozens of Greenpeace activists on Monday after they broke into the Forsmark nuclear power plant north of Stockholm before a planned vote this week on whether to replace the country’s existing reactors, many of which were built in the 1970s. The protesters object to the proposed law, which would allow the reactors to be replaced or refurbished. The activists posed no danger to the plant’s operation and none resisted arrest on charges of breaking and entering, said Christer Nordstrom, a spokesman for the Uppsala police.
