Two Tunisians who had been held at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, arrived in Italy on Monday and will be tried on international terrorism charges of having recruited fighters for Afghanistan, officials said. Adel Ben Mabrouk, 39, and Mohamed Ben Riadh Nasri, 43, are suspected of being members of Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. An Italian magistrate indicted the two in 2007.
