Courage and moral resistance form the theme of this year's Yom Hashoah commemoration, the annual remembrance of the estimated 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust. Ceremonies begin today at 7:30 p.m. at Tiffereth Beth David Jerusalem Congregation, 6519 Baily Rd. in Côte St. Luc, which can accommodate 1,800 people. Video testimonials will describe acts of kindness in desperate circumstances, when concentration camp inmates risked their lives to save others. The service, organized by the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre, is supported by Jewish community organizations. All are welcome.
