Treacherous Arab MKs as well as Arabs who demonstrated against Israel ought to be banished from the Knesset and from Israel, MK Effi Eitam (NU/NRP) told the Knesset plenum on Wednesday.

"Treacherous MKs who take refuge in the shadow of Israeli democracy tell the 'martyrs' in Gaza that [they] will continue their war. I think that no sane democracy can ignore this severe incitement, this treason during wartime," Eitam said.

MK Jamal Zahalka (Balad) interrupted Eitam, crying out: "You're crazy. You're a fascist. You're racist, and you don't represent Judaism." Zahalka was called to order by MK Otniel Schneller (Kadima), who chaired the session, but did not agree to remain quiet and was eventually ordered out of the hall.

Eitam was referring to Tuesday's demonstration in the Arab town of Umm el-Fahm, in which approximately a thousand Arab Israelis protesting the IDF's Operation Hot Winter in the Gaza Strip over the weekend chanted slogans such as "With spirit and blood we will liberate you, o Palestine," "Israel is the mother of terror," "Israel is a terror state" and even "Stop the Zionazi." Zahalka was one of the speakers at the protest.

Continuing his speech, Eitam said, "We must expel you and everyone who participated in yesterday's wild, reckless and treacherous conduct against the state of Israel. You should be banished to Gaza. That is where your people fight us, that is where you belong.

"I tell you a day will come when we will banish you from this house (the Knesset) and from the national home of the Jewish people," Eitam concluded.
