The number of African countries scheduled to be represented at Israel' s annual tourism exhibition is the highest ever. Angola, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Mozambique have all planned booths at the 12th International Mediterranean Tourism Market. They will join veteran presenters South Africa and Morocco.

More than 30 countries are expected to participate, including Austria, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Romania, Ukraine, Hong Kong, Uzbekistan and India. Many countries have increased their exhibition space and marketing activities at the fair, in order to be more prominent.

IMTM 2007 will be Tuesday and Wednesday at the Tel Aviv Exhibition Grounds and is open to the general public. Tourism Ministry Director General Nahum Itzkovitz will present Israel's marketing plan for the next three years. The convention, in cooperation with the University of Derby in Israel, will deal in tourism marketing and tourism on the Internet, and there will be a round-table discussion of marketing and tourism for Israel in the coming years.
