Palestinians fired a Qassam rocket that hit a strategic facility in the Ashkelon area on Friday. It was not immediately clear whether the attack caused damage.
Palestinians fired a total of five Qassam rockets at Israel on Friday. A man in the Carmiya area north of Gaza was treated for shock in the wake of one of the rocket attacks.
Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the rocket fire, Israel Radio reported.
In response to the Palestinian rocket attacks, Israel Air Force aircraft attacked Qassam launch sites in the northern Gaza Strip. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
Earlier, Israel Defense Forces also fired artillery rounds at the northern Gaza launch sites.
Palestinian said killed by IDF in Nablus
IDF troops shot dead a Palestinian teenager and wounded another person Friday during a pre-dawn raid on the Ein Beit Ilma refugee camp in the West Bank city of Nablus, relatives of the dead boy said.
They named him as Amer Basiouny, 15, and said he was hit when he went out on the roof of the family home to look after gunfire erupted in his neighborhood.
The IDF said troops searching for wanted Palestinian militants shot one armed man and another person, who threw an object at soldiers. The army had no information on the condition of either casualty.
Later Friday in the West Bank, IDF soldiers arrested two Palestinian youths who were throwing stones at Israeli cars passing on the highway near Beit Horon on Friday afternoon.
Two Border Police officers and four left-wing activists were wounded during an anti-separation fence protest on Friday in the West Bank village of Beit Sira. One of the officers was evacuated to hospital in Jerusalem and the other received medical attention in the field.
There were also anti-fence protests in the village of Abud, located west of Ramallah.
